5 Tips For Riding As A Group
- Ride as a group, chat to the person next to you and stay together.
- Listen to the ride leader and follow their instructions. Acknowledge the turn directions and heed the whistle. Single blast means a change over, do it smartish as the leader is often keeping track of time and keeping you on route. Long blast means you could be in trouble!
- Stay safe, ride no more than two abreast and single if needs be. Be kind to other road users even if they may not deserve it! Just give all cyclists and our club a good name.
- Point out obstructions and say left or right. Pass those instructions back down the line.
- Help newbies, not every rider knows who how to ride in groups, how gears work etc etc.... We all have to start somewhere.
